They also have a policy - one which I was unaware of - where you have to spend $25 to ask for $50 cashback. I have NEVER run into this policy anywhere. Unaware of it, I'd spent around $9 and hit the $50 back. The Cashier was nasty to me, telling me that for future reference they have this policy and pointed out to the tattered, highlighted, notice on the debit/credit machine. I sincerely apologized but she flung my receipt and money at me, completely dismissing me.
Small grocery store, also has a deli and some cooked foods. Good for a quick lunch.
I go to this store nearly on a daily basis, I find that they have come a long way with cleaning it up and making it more presentable. But I do believe that the cashiers need to have some serious training on customer service. This is not the only time I"ve had negative interaction at the front end.

The negative comments expect far too much from a local small town store and are welcome to find another store to shop at because anyone who works at or enjoys shopping at Barre Foods are very welcoming and upbeat people and if they don't enjoy this experience they're probably people you wouldn't want to be around anyway.
This place has come a long ways. However, I think some of the staff need better training on customer service. I have had wonderful interactions with almost any staff not at a cash register. Deli, meat, dairy, etc, they are friendly and interactive. At the Registers though, I have encountered poorly trained cashiers who are often rude.
I do not expect a lot, but I do expect to be treated like a human being just as I treat them.
Barre Foods is an extremely convenient and reasonably priced small town store. I was impressed by the variety of products they sold and the friendliness made my shopping experience much more pleasurable. I've relied on Barre Foods for practically all of my grocery shopping and I highly recommend it for everyone. My kids also love the kindness that the deli staff shows by providing free samples. I will be shopping here for as long as I live in Barre! Definitely recommend.
